FLOATING P.O.V. is the debut LP from songwriter and multi-instrumentalist MATTHEW MACLEAN. After a long tenure in the Melbourne "underground" music scene as a band member (Broken Needles, Tender Bones), rando' gun for hire, and occasional solo performer, Maclean is nailing his boots to the deck and putting his name on a thing. An album, just for you.

Largely written over the last three years and recorded with borrowed gear in a spare room during several lockdowns, FLOATING P.O.V. is a dreamy trip through meandering guitar-led, indie pop songs and stripped-back folksy numbers. Supported and surrounded by many layers of synthy delights, the collection is lyrically joined together by themes of observational humour, loss, longing, and mechanical engineering; delivered in a mixture of equal parts sweet sincerity and slightly aggravated sarcasm.
